Report of 2004 Mission Trip

June 27, 2004

Thank you again for your investment in the work in Uganda. God has blessed us beyond our imagination, and our team returns home with grateful hearts and memories of lives being changed by the Gospel. The most special memory was on the Sunday morning we opened the new church in Chema. At first it seemed only a few would come, but then, as the service started, 500-600 people crowded into the new building. The four hour service that followed passed quickly and at the end there were numbers of commitments to Christ

Some highlights of the trip:

Several Muslims were converted
Helped start a new church in Chema
Land Chairman #1 of Chema was converted; this would be like the Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu being converted at one of our worship services
Water system we funded is supplying fresh water from 4 miles away with high pressure
Great progress has been made on Mephibosheth Hall, the main building in the Bethel Village school/orphanage complex
We replaced a pastor's house which was burned down, helped complete a concrete flour for the Kapchorwa Church and paid for the repairs to the roof of the Kaserem Church
Bought a motorcycle for Pastor Peter
Brought in lots of medical supplies for the medical clinic, which has expanded. During the day Pete's brother, Andy, worked in the clinic, 216 people were seen
Established a new Presbytery; now there are four presbyteries in the Presbyterian Church of Uganda and Trinity Church has helped build each of the church buildings in this presbytery
Provided a generator for another orphanage
Four students at Bethel Covenant College made professions of faith
Trained 43 pastors and Christian leaders and provided pastors with a small theological library
Purchased a field to grow crops for orphans and widows at the Chema Church
