What type of church is Trinity?

We are affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America. Our purpose is to build the kingdom of God by courageously and joyfully sharing with the world the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our focus is on families and missions.

What should I wear?

Really, anything you like. Suits and ties are never worn. You will see a lot of Aloha Shirts, shorts, jeans, dockers, and even “slippers” aka flip flops. We suggest something comfortable because that’s what we’ll be wearing.

Do you have any tips for first-timers?

Sure! Don’t worry about parking, if you visit Trinity for the first time, we encourage you to find our First Time Visitor Parking spots located to the left of the front door of the church. Get here a few minutes early on Sunday so you can get acquainted with the Church. Once inside you’ll find lots of smiling, helpful faces that would be more than glad to point you in the right direction. In the foyer, you will find an information table full of useful info for you to take with you, feel free to grab some. Also, after the service, please stick around for a little as lunch is provided. Pastor Pete will almost always greet you as you exit the building.

Do you have programs for Children and Teens?

Of course we do. Find out more about them right here. Here are the Sunday basics though: Nursery is available for infants to 3 years of age. Children’s programs are offered during the Service. Middle School & High Schoolers are encouraged to attend the main adult service.

What are the services like?

It’s hard to explain since there are so few churches out there like us… but we’re going to try anyway… Imagine finding a church that is enjoyable, one that you look forward to all week. The best way to find out what the services are like is to come and check it out…every Sunday at 10:00am.

How long are they?

We know that you have a lot going on in life and sitting through a long, boring, drawn-out church service is the last thing you want to do with your Sunday. So first and foremost we strive to not be boring. But to answer your question: about an hour and 15 minutes, and occasionally if we have a LOT of really good elements or communion, then an hour and 30 minutes. Lunch is provided after each service.

Tell me about your Pastor

Pastor Pete Anderson’s diverse background uniquely enables him to minister in Hawaii. After graduating in 1970 from King College in Bristol, Tennessee, he served with the United States Army. Later he received a master’s degree in counseling from the University of North Carolina and served as a missionary to Mexico. In 1977, upon graduation from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Pastor Anderson and his wife, Martha, moved to Hawaii.

Pastor Anderson, or “Pastor Pete” as he prefers to be called, is the founding pastor of Trinity Church Windward in Kailua. In addition, he has served as the director of Trinity Christian Counseling Center and with his wife helped to found Trinity Christian School. In 1990, he received his doctorate from the International Graduate School of Theology.

Pastor Pete cares about your questions, and is committed to doing whatever it takes to help you. You won’t find a person more dedicated to truth, compassion, and helping others. For a more information about Pastor Pete please see his full bio.

Tell me about your Worship.

We basically have contemporary worship with an appreciation of traditional music, incorporating some of the favorite hymns of the church.

Do you have Small Groups?

We sure do! Home Groups are a key part of Trinity’s mission to be “where people connect to God and each other.” Home Groups are local, close to where you live. They are small groups of several households that will meet weekly to share fellowship, food, and study to build toward real biblical community. For a listing of our small group studies click here.
